A man cannot earn his salvation by preaching that salvation cannot be earned. But when it comes to ministry and service, the principles he highlights from Scripture are timeless. Clowney’s little treatise is a great example of biblical fidelity to a topical subject. I think there are two things those in this spot need to hear: Clowney spends the first part establishing the case that all Christians are called to “the ministry”–ministry to their brothers and sisters in Christ, spouses, their children, their neighbors, to the world.
